Come on the journey with us as Yirra Yaakin champions the next generation of independent First Nations artists, writers and arts workers by presenting a series of new works in June at the Subiaco Arts Centre.

As part of Season 2022 Yirra Yaakin proudly presents the Yirra Yaakin Vignette Series, a collection of excellent scripts developed as part of our Metro Writers’ Group program and presented as the public readings of Yirra Yaarnz in 2020 and 2021.

A next step in Yirra Yaakin creating new pathways, showcasing more First Nations artists, writers and arts workers and supporting the progression of their professional skills in all roles within Independent Theatre and beyond.

The Vignette Series – Journey Ticket provides you with a unique opportunity to join us and the cast and crew, witnessing firsthand our process in developing, producing and presenting this series of new works, from page to stage.

As you journey with us, you will gain exclusive access at five integral points during the development of this production, including the official Welcome to Country and first script read, a rough rehearsal run and a technical rehearsal. Then witness as all departments come together and make the magic happen with your ticket to attend the first preview performance of the season!

Also, as an added bonus, you will have the opportunity to journey full circle back to the origins of these works and where they all began with a ticket to this years’ Yirra Yaarnz public readings! Held during NAIDOC Week 2022, Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! celebrations in July, presented in Hackett Hall, WA Museum Boola Bardip.
