Sista Girl

Perth Metro Tour June – July 2024

Synopsis

Sista Girl is a brilliantly humorous, powerful, and heart-warming production that tackles issues as alive and important as they’ve ever been. Told via the story of two young women, strangers to each other but bonded by blood and grief. Sisters. They break the cold silence of the hospital room to start a difficult conversation. About the past and secrets. About the women who were their mothers. And about why this man, their father, abandoned one family to make another. When the past is dying and can’t say sorry, how do you move on?

Co-written by Alexis West and Elena Carapetis the play speaks directly to its young audiences about

matters of identity, grief, and the complex nature of family, whilst prompting them to question their own perceptions of other races, genders, and cultures.
