It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company’s former Chairperson, Clem Rodney, on the 27th July 2020.
The Board, staff and members of Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company will be forever grateful for the dedicated and inspiring service Clem provided to the company over a period of 16 years. Firstly, as a Director from April 2004 to 2008 before moving into the role of Chairperson from 2008 to March 2020. From day one, his passion, dedication and governance of Yirra Yaakin was second-to-none.
His hard work and commitment enabled the company to grow into one of Australia’s leading First Nations’ performing arts theatre companies. Clem has left a lasting legacy that will see his name synonymous with Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company for all time.
