Performance by Yirra Yaakin’s Junior Sonneteers

Through Yirra Yaakin’s work in adapting Shakespeare into Noongar language, as part of the Noongar Shakespeare Project, and driven by our commitment to ‘keeping language alive’, secondary school students from years from across Perth were invited to take part in auditions for our Junior Sonneteers Program this year.

From the auditions, 23 students were successfully selected to be a part of the program and have since been participating in weekly workshops and rehearsals involving theatre making, performance, Shakespeare and Noongar language.
