Casting Call | Operation Boomerang

Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers to audition for our mainstage production Operation Boomerang written by Bruce Denny.

Operation Boomerang was developed from a personal experience with the playwright’s mother and other elderly relatives being placed in aged care and the importance of returning to Country for many of Aboriginal people when they know their time is near.

Cultural and spiritual needs versus societal expectations drive this work as a kookie Aboriginal family trying to support their sassy matriarch’s sunset wishes.
