The Board of Yirra Yaakin is seeking Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals with skills and experience in governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, law, or strategic planning to join our Board of Directors.

What does board membership entail?

Championing Yirra Yaakin’s mission, values, and programs, the Board of Directors is the governing body responsible for and actively engaged in providing the organisation with fiduciary oversight, strategic leadership, and vision.

• Serve at least one 3-year term
• Attend up to 6 board meetings per year
• Serve on at least one sub-committee
• Actively work to sustain and grow the organisation by contributing your resources, knowledge, skills, and time

Yirra Yaakin Aboriginal Corporation exists to tell Aboriginal stories. As cultural caretakers, we will support and work with our Artists to reflect on the past, help define the present and pass stories on for the future. We aim to improve the cultural health of all involved and find space for an Aboriginal voice to be heard.
