Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company is seeking to appoint an energetic, positive, and highly organised duo of Associate Producers.
Yirra Yaakin, which means “Stand Tall” in Noongar language, is one of Australia’s leading Aboriginal performing arts organisations producing award winning, world-class theatre that is exciting, entertaining, educational, authentic, and culturally appropriate.
The organisation operates from its home at the Subiaco Arts Centre, where we premiere productions before sharing our stories across the state of Western Australia, and beyond.
Yirra Yaakin has two Associate Producer positions available for Aboriginal identifying people.
We are seeking to appoint an energetic, positive, and highly organised duo of Associate Producers who are joining the company at an exciting time in our 30-year history, as we forge ahead centering Aboriginal ways of being and doing, so we create and share stories that resonate across the world, through our eyes.
Under the direction of the Senior Producer, the Associate Producers will support the project planning and delivery of Yirra Yaakin’s annual artistic program of theatre productions. The Associate Producers will also provide support for the delivery of Yirra Yaakin’s education and community engagement projects and events across the year.
These roles are delivered with the full support of the Senior Producer and there is scope for ongoing professional development.
There are two Associate Producer positions available, one full time, and one part time (0.6 FTE) based at the Subiaco Arts Centre, Wandarguttagurrup (Subiaco), Western Australia and commencing early February 2024.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
