Which Way? Poetry Workshops – Expressions of Interest

Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are inviting Expressions of Interest to participate in our upcoming Which Way? Poetry Workshops, facilitated by award-winning First Nations poet and writer, Charmaine Papertalk Green.

Charmaine Papertalk Green is based in Geraldton and will impart her wealth of knowledge via a series of Zoom poetry workshops and one-on-one sessions for up to 10 Indigenous poets.

After the success of Which Way? Poetry Workshops in 2020 and 2021, we are excited to be running them again!

This is a free online workshop series, focusing on poetry performance. The program is open to First Nations poets of all skill levels; from the budding poet to the gigging bard.

When:

  • Sat 1st October 2pm to 3.30pm
  • Sat 8th October 2pm to 3.30pm
  • Sat 15th October 2pm to 3.30pm
  • Sat 22nd October 2pm to 3.30pm
  • Sat 29th October – Webinar

Public performance via Zoom (Webinar) or at Yirra Yaakin Family Picnic on Sunday, October 30. 

Where: Via Zoom – We will send out the link to confirmed participants.

Cost: Free! But you must commit to all our four sessions plus one-on-one sessions with Charmaine.

Please note that this program is open to Australian First Nations Poets based in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

If you are interested in participating, please email one of your own poems and a short description of yourself to Bobbi Henry, e: projects@yirrayaakin.com.au, by Friday, September 9. We will then let you know if you have been accepted.
