What's Involved
More than a decade ago, Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, Native Earth Theatre Company (Toronto, Canada) and Tawata Productions (Wellington, NZ) came together to create Honouring Theatre to foster more collaborations, artistic exchanges and touring opportunities. Since then, the Tri-Nations network, led by all three First Nations arts companies, has been alive and evolving.
Following on from the Honouring Theatre collaboration between Yirra Yaakin, Native Earth and Tawata Productions, six First Nations emerging playwrights were engaged and supported in developing the skills needed to write radio plays, including two from WA. 2023 is the time to produce the radio plays and, in continuous collaboration with the Honouring Theatre companies, distribute them globally.
