Ngalaka Daa Audition Notice

‘Kaya koordah! Noonok kwop?’

Are you a performer? Are you interested in learning Noongar language? Are you generally a deadly person? If you are, the Ngalaka Daa crew is looking for you!

Driven by the sharing of Noongar language and culture, the program will provide participants with the opportunity to receive intensive individual development in theatre making, performance and language skills at a professional level.

In the Ngalaka Daa ensemble, you will have space to explore language and performance in a safe environment, working with other young people to create a moorditj performance. Workshops will be run by Della Rae Morrison (Performer, Hecate (Yirra Yaakin) & Beside (WAYTCo)) and James Berlyn (Artistic Director of WAYTCo) and the final performance will be directed by Cezera Critti-Schnaars (Performer, Hecate (Yirra Yaakin) & Miss Lily’s Fabulous Feather Boa (Spare Parts)). You must be based in Perth, Western Australia, and aged between 13 and 26 (please note: you must be turning 13 or 26 this year in order to be included in the above age range).

Auditions will be held on Friday 30 April, between 5pm and 8pm, at the King St Arts Centre. To book an audition, please contact our Producer, Elinor, no later than 12pm on Friday 30 April, 2021.

If you are unable to attend in-person auditions, you are welcome to submit a video audition by 5pm on Wednesday 28 April in order to be considered.
