Job Opportunity | General Manager

Yirra Yaakin Aboriginal Corporation (Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company) is seeking to appoint a dynamic General Manager to drive the vision of one of Australia’s leading Aboriginal performing arts companies.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager with 5 or more years’ experience, managing and leading a team within a dynamic creative environment. This includes the ability to unite people behind a strategic vision, astute financial judgement, political nous, to have a clear understanding of risk management, and the ability to lead and support people through change.

This is a great opportunity to deliver results through executive leadership and build on the 30 years of Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company’s amazing history.

Working with the Board of Directors, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provision of leadership of Yirra Yaakin in the achievement of its mission, vision andcorporate goals.
  • Commitment to the goals and objectives of the Company.
  • Achievement of all the financial goals of the Company.
  • General management of Yirra Yaakin under the direction of the Board and inconformity with the business plan.
  • Development of an effective team.
  • Networking and promotion of the Company.

Professional experience with the performing arts sector will be viewed favourably.
