Casting Call – Ice Land: A Hip h’Opera

Director Kyle J Morrison is seeking an actor (experience in hip hop, rap, musical theatre and/or playing a musical instrument is preferred but not essential) for the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company theatre production tour of Ice Land: A Hip h’Opera, touring in regional WA between March and May 2021.

You will be playing the part of Joy, a mother trapped in desperation, forced into dealing meth again when all other supports are taken away. You will also be expected to help facilitate a series of workshops with young people whilst on tour – training will be provided.

You must be based in Perth, Western Australia, and will be required to get a Working With Children’s Check and Police Clearance, if you do not have one already.

Auditions will be held on Friday 19 February, 2021, between 10am and 2pm at the Subiaco Arts Centre, Subiaco. Rehearsals commence on Monday the 8th of March, 2021. The tour is currently scheduled to finish on Sunday the 16th of May, 2021.

You will be paid at MEAA award rates, including all travel, accommodation expenses and per diems being covered by the company.
