Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are seeking three Aboriginal actors for the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company children’s production of Boodjar Kaatijin, touring into primary schools throughout Perth and regional WA between March to April 2024.

Performer Requirements

Successful auditionees will be expected to play a variety of parts, including that of a narrator and several animals local to Noongar Boodjar. Good physicality and ability to engage positively with children is required.

Must be based in Perth, Western Australia. Will be required to get a Working With Children’s Check and Police Clearance, if you do not have one already.

Experience in acting for theatre is preferred but not essential.

Dates

Auditions will be held on Wednesday 22nd November 2023 with call-backs on the morning of Thursday 23rd of November 2023.

Rehearsals commence on Tuesday the 22nd of April, 2024. The season will run from the 15th of May until the 28th of August, 2024.
