When you become a member of Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, you are helping to champion Aboriginal voices, stories, and creative excellence. Our members play an important role in supporting the development of new works, nurturing emerging artists, and ensuring Aboriginal stories continue to be shared with audiences across Western Australia and beyond.
Membership Eligibility
Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company is an Aboriginal corporation registered with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth) (CATSI Act).
In accordance with the CATSI Act and Yirra Yaakin’s Rule Book:
• Membership is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who support the purpose and values of Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be recognised as such by their community.
• All membership applications are considered in line with the CATSI Act and the company’s Rule Book.
Membership is free.
