Synopsis
Woolah!
Yirra Yaakin presents Woolah!, a theatre production showcasing the plays and Aboriginal playwrights that Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company has championed over the last thirty years.
We celebrate our achievements and the joy that we have brought to Western Australian, Australian, and international audiences with a vignette-style performance drawing on scenes from a selection of main-stage shows presented by Yirra Yaakin over the last thirty years: Cruel Wild Woman written by Sally Morgan & David Milroy, Windmill Baby written by David Milroy, The Fever and the Fret written by Jub Clerc, So Long Suckers scripted by Peter Docker in collaboration with Emmanuel James Brown, Kyle Morrison and Ian Wilkes, Conversations with the Dead written by Richard Frankland, Hecate adapted by Kylie Bracknell [Kaarljilba Kaardn] and Dating Black written by Narelle Thorne. Come and see our brilliant performer alumni – Bruce Denny, Peter Docker, Bobbi Henry, Ebony McGuire, Della Rae Morrison, Rayma Morrison, Tegan Mulvany, Kelton Pell, Maitland Schnaars, Calen Tassone and Rubeun Yorkshire perform on centre stage.
