Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are seeking one Aboriginal actor for the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company children’s production of Kaarla Kaatijin, written by Zac James!

Touring into primary schools throughout Perth and regional WA between April to August 2025.

Performer Requirements

Successful auditionees will be expected to play a variety of parts, including that of a narrator and several animals local to Noongar Boodjar. Good physicality and ability to engage positively with children is required.

Must be based in Perth, Western Australia. Will be required to get a Working With Children’s Check and Police Clearance, if you do not have one already.

Experience in acting for theatre is preferred but not essential.

Dates

Auditions will be held on Monday 13^th January 2025 with call-backs on the morning of Friday 17^th January 2025. With your audition please prepare a Dreamtime story to be performed as if performing to children of primary school age.

Rehearsals commence on Tuesday the 22nd of April, 2025. The season will run from the 14th of May until the 15th of August, 2025.
