$100 Donation for Aboriginal Theatre Project, Cracked

Cracked, by Barbara Hostalek, is one of the performances we have planned as part of our 2019 Season. Presented in collaboration with Playwriting Australia, Cracked is a powerful and thought-provoking look inside our criminal justice system. The play follows Frankie, the main character, who is in jail for serious offences of assault and drug possession. It shows the complexity and disconnectedness of people that fall into a life of crime, and the trials faced by prisoners and others who are determined to help them find a better life.

We need your help.

This is an important Aboriginal story that we plan to bring to audiences at the Subiaco Arts Centre next May. But we do not have a Season Partner (a partner who chooses one performance from our annual season to support) for Cracked. This means we have a gap in our budget of $15,000. We invite you to donate $100 per month for 12 months to assist us to fill this gap. We only need 13 donors to achieve our goal. This $15,000 will contribute to bringing the script to life on stage in ways such as providing costumes for the production.

All donors directly contributing to Cracked will be acknowledged in our production program and on our website and will be invited to hear the director, Kyle J Morrison, speak about the play at a pre-performance talk on Wednesday 16 May 2019.
