Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company Successful In Four-Year Funding Program

Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company is pleased to announce its success in the Australia Council for the Arts Four Year Funding program, which was officially released on Friday 13 May 2016.

Yirra Yaakin would not have been able to achieve this outcome without the support of its  board, staff, partners, donors, Koordahs and audience members.

Yirra Yaakin General Manager Peter Kift said funds received over the next four years will ensure that Yirra Yaakin continues to contribute to the evolution of the Australian performing arts sector by projecting a strong Aboriginal voice through live performance.

“We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the amazing work that all of our peers do,” Mr Kift said.

“Arts and culture plays a vital role in connecting our communities with the stories that reflect who we are as a nation.  The small to medium performing arts sector provides an important platform and pathway for our country's most talented artists & creatives.”

Yirra Yaakin once again thanks all of its supporters past and present and invites you to join us for the world premiere of So Long Suckers, which opens from 26 May 2016 at the Subiaco Arts Centre.
