Yirra Yaakin Launches it's 2016 Season

New forms, new collaborations, new ways of telling our stories.

On Tuesday 8 December 2015, Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company launched it's 2016 Season Program at the Subiaco Arts Centre. With an ambitious program of all new works, 2016 will be Yirra Yaakin's first home-grown season at the Subiaco Arts Centre.

Artistic Director Kyle J Morrison, said the company looks forward to establishing itself as a "Centre of Excellence" for contemporary Australian Aboriginal Theatre in Western Australia.

"In 2016 we will be sharing new and original stories from the Kimberley and South West and beyond with world premieres of not just one work but three exciting new works. 2016 also begins the seeding of new projects that we hope to develop, grow and bear a rich harvest in future years." Mr Morrison said.

"Our people are who we are and who enable us to achieve great things, and we look forward to inviting everyone in joining us as we share our stories and our culture."
