Yirra Yaakin - Winner of The CPA 2013 National Award
Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company and Terry Grose Win National Award For Australia’s Best Arts and Business Partnerships
Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company has been awarded the Woodside Better Business Award at Creative Partnerships Australia National Awards event. The successful win comes after picking up the Western Australian state award in September.
The 2013 National Awards acknowledged Australia’s best business and arts partnerships and the outstanding contribution of Board member Terry Grose who has been a volunteer with the Company since 2009. Creative Partnerships Australia Awards celebrate and recognise outstanding collaborations between the arts, business and philanthropic sectors to achieve outcomes for arts and health, accessibility, environmental sustainability, philanthropy and volunteering in Australia. Mr Grose was acknowledged for his commitment, support and ongoing advocacy with Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company.
For the past four years, Terry Grose has brought his commercial background to the Board of Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company. During this time Terry has provided outstanding management support, financial leadership, mentorship, and corporate strategy skills, which has greatly assisted the Company in developing a strong position for the future.
The 2013 Creative Partnerships Australia Awards were held at Parliament House Canberra on Monday 18 November 2013. The awards were attended by Yirra Yaakin’s Chair, Clem Rodney and his wife Dorothy Rodney, Treasurer Terry Grose and his wife Rosemary Sayer and General Manager Peter Kift.
